The College of Education of St. Michael's College, Iligan City offers students outstanding opportunities to prepare for careers in teaching elementary and secondary schools including special education. It enhances dynamic learning experience for future teachers aiming to inspire a love of learning. Faculty and students engage in dynamic learning experiences that enhance student achievement, teacher preparation and leadership growth. The college aims at producing future educators who are equipped with skills needed to function as competent molders of the young. The College of Education's teacher preparation program has been continuously accredited by Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). Degree programs accredited are Bachelor in Elementary Education major in General Education (BEED - Gen. Ed.), Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Mathematics (BSED - Mathematics), and Bachelor in Secondary Education major in English (BSED - English).

Goals of Nursing Education
The Nursing curriculum is geared towards equipping caring nurse in the prevention of diseases, promotion and restoration of health, the alleviation of suffering; assisting clients to face death with dignity and in peace. It also aids in shaping practitioner a critical thinking nurse practitioner in developing leadership program management, effective communication and community organization.

  • BACHELOR IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION (Major in General Education)
    The School of Education offers an exemplary program in elementary education designed to provide a balanced blend of theory and practice.
    hroughout the elementary education degree program college students will complete the required number of units in a variety of hands-on elementary teaching and field-based experiences.
  • BACHELOR IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION (Major in Special Education)
    Designed for any individual who wishes to seek an elementary or cross-categorical teaching diploma and certificate to teach children with special needs. Courses are taught by experts in their respective fields who share knowledge and experience in areas of learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disabilities, and other physical and cognitive impairments.
    English Education degree program prepares prospective teachers with the knowledge and skills essential to provide effective English instruction for the students in the Philippines and throughout the world.

Requirements for Admission

- Entrance Examination Result (Guidance Center)
-High School Report Card (for High School/Incoming Freshmen Students)
- Photocopy of National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) test result (for High School/Incoming Freshmen Students)
- Transcript of Records and/or computer-generated Evaluation of Grades (for transferees and 2nd coursers)
- Certificate of Good Moral Character
- Preliminary Interview by the Guidance Counselor
- Duly accomplished Admission Form (to be given after the Preliminary Interview)
- Three (3) pieces 1x1 ID pictures (identical, plain background, and latest)

Employment Opportunities
Current education studies predict growing opportunities for Elementary and Secondary teachers at all levels, both to replace retiring teachers and to provide lower student-teacher ratios in classrooms. Employment prospects are excellent for Mathematics, English and Special Education degree courses. A critical shortage of Math, English and SPED teachers exist throughout the nation, creating increasing demand for bright new instructors.

The College of Education is delighted to welcome you to our website. Here you will be provided with some information about our faculty, our students, our community extension and academic programs. The education program of SMC is aiming to produce graduates equipped with the relevant skills. This is the main reason of innovating programs and continuously processing quality assurance through accreditation. The College of Education is level II PAASCU accredited. With our desire to produce graduates who can perform their duty as educators with genuine concern for the growth and formation of their students, they are exposed to experiences and provided venue where they can exercise leadership and share in the community's endeavor for stability, progress and prosperity. We created this website with great hope that we can provide you easy access to the education program of St. Michael's College.

St. Michael's College of Iligan City, a Catholic institution of higher learning in Iligan City, administered by the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM), offering four levels of education: elementary, secondary, tertiary and graduate school.
