School Clinic

Health is a right of every human being. Healthy people are a prerequisite to national development. Since St. Michael’s College lives and works with the core values of FAITH, EXCELLENCE, and SERVICE; giving best services to the academic community.

One of the school’s offices that deliver best services in school and in the community is the School Clinic of both campuses, where it provides health services to every Michaelite and to its adopted communities here in Iligan City. The clinic provides health services as headed by the health care providers: School Nurse, School Physician, and School Dentist, serving the students, teaching and non-teaching personnel of the institution where they all deliver and render compassionate health services to every member of SMC. SMC-Clinic also focuses on the promotion of health and wellness for a healthy lifestyle; reduces risk taking behavior and focuses on issues such as prevention of drug and substance abuse, malnutrition, and communicable and non-communicable disease. Furthermore, to support Michaelites learning and ensure that educational potential is not hampered by unmet health needs. School nurses are the front liners in the provision of health and nutrition/programs in the school. They are unique persons in the school setting to assist the Michaelites in acquiring health knowledge in developing attitudes and practices conducive to healthy living. The clinic is not only a venue for those unhealthy individuals but this is also widely open to well people in view of the fact that it provides counseling and teaching when it comes to health matters.
