Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM)
The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) offers a four-year program that is designed to equip students with the necessary competencies to execute operational tasks and management functions across various sectors of the hospitality and tourism industry.
Firmly rooted in the RVM core values of Faith, Excellence, and Service, the curriculum focuses on core industry areas such as food production (culinary), accommodation, food and beverage service, and events planning. Graduates are prepared to meet the demands of the local and global hospitality environment, developing into morally competent and service-oriented professionals committed to responsible leadership and ethical practice. The program incorporates a minimum set of management courses as it is fundamentally considered a management program, preparing students to lead with Christian values in the spirit of Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo.

Program Learning Outcomes and Objectives
The program is designed so that a graduate should be able to:
- Produce food products and services complying with enterprise standards.
- Apply management skills in Food & Beverage (F&B) service and operations.
- Perform and provide full guest cycle services for front office.
- Perform and maintain various housekeeping services for guest and facility operations.
- Plan and implement a risk management program to provide a safe and secure workplace.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the tourism industry, local tourism products, and services.
- Utilize information technology applications for tourism and hospitality.
- Manage and market a service-oriented business organization.
- Demonstrate administrative and managerial skills in a service-oriented business organization.
- Prepare and monitor industry-specific financial transactions and reports.
- Utilize various communication channels proficiently in dealing with guests and colleagues.
- Perform the basic functions of management (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling).
- Apply basic concepts of business functional areas (marketing, finance, HR, etc.).
- Select the proper decision-making tools to critically, analytically, and creatively solve problems.
- Demonstrate corporate citizenship and social responsibility.

The program is designed so that a graduate should be able to:
- Plan, implement, and monitor tours and sales activities.
- Research, plan, and conduct various tour guiding activities.
- Develop appropriate marketing programs and arrange the required travel services.
- Plan/Organize, implement, and evaluate MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions/Events) activities.
- Plan, develop, and evaluate tourism sites and attractions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the tourism industry, local tourism products, and services.
- Interpret and apply relevant laws related to the tourism industry.
- Utilize information technology applications for tourism and hospitality.
- Manage and market a service-oriented business organization.
- Demonstrate administrative and managerial skills in a service-oriented business organization.
- Perform human capital development functions of a tourism-oriented organization.
- Perform the basic functions of management (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling).
- Apply basic concepts of business functional areas (marketing, finance, HR, etc.).
- Apply ICT skills as required by the business environment.
- Work effectively with other stakeholders and manage conflict in the workplace.

Career Objectives
Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared for a variety of careers in the hospitality industry. Career objectives include, but are not limited to, roles focused on the following competencies:
- Accommodations and Lodging: Front Office Management, Housekeeping Management, Property Management.
- Food and Beverage (F&B): Culinary Arts/Food Production, F&B Service Management, Restaurant/Bar Operations.
- General Management: Administrative and Managerial roles in hospitality establishments, Planning and implementing a risk management program.
- Entrepreneurship: Developing and defending a business plan for restaurant, hotel, or allied ventures.

Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared for a variety of careers in the tourism industry. Career objectives include, but are not limited to, roles focusing on the following competencies:
- Travel and Tour Operations: Tour Planner, Travel Agent, Tour Guide, Tour Sales and Marketing Specialist.
- Events Management: MICE Planner, Event Organizer/Coordinator.
- Tourism Development: Tourism Site Planner/Developer, Local Tourism Officer.
- Management and Administration: Managerial and administrative roles in tourism enterprises, Research and planning specialist in government tourism agencies.
- Entrepreneurship: Starting and managing a travel agency, tour operation, or tourism-related business.
