Concert for a Cause: CHTM Students Transform Learning into Community Impact

The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) successfully executed the Concert for a Cause, a dynamic and practical performance task undertaken by the students enrolled in the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) class. This project challenged students to apply high-level event management, financial planning, and organizational skills in a real-world setting.

The success of the concert was defined not just by the quality of the production, but by its profound community contribution. The MICE class effectively transformed theoretical classroom learning into a genuine act of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Turning Proceeds into Purpose

We are proud to announce that the proceeds generated from the Concert for a Cause were allocated to two meaningful objectives, directly demonstrating the CHTM’s commitment to service and compassion:

  • City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD): Essential goods were donated to the CSWD to support their crucial programs benefiting vulnerable sectors of the Iligan community.
  • Scholar ni San Miguel Program: Significant funding support was provided to the “Scholar ni San Miguel” program, helping deserving students pursue their education at St. Michael’s College.

This initiative truly exemplifies how student effort, combined with the generosity of our supporters and participants, can create a substantial, meaningful difference in the lives of others. We applaud the MICE class for demonstrating ethical leadership and civic engagement.
