The 2016 Nutrition Month Celebration was conducted on July 16, 2016, at the Barangay Hall of Brgy. Santiago, Iligan City, as part of the health care and community outreach initiatives of St. Michaelโs College. Organized by the College of Nursing under the Mother Ignacia Center for Social Responsibility (MICSR), the activity aimed to promote nutrition awareness, healthy lifestyle practices, and preventive health education among community members.
Through information sharing, basic health education, and community engagement, the activity addressed the importance of proper nutrition in improving overall well-being, particularly among families and vulnerable groups. Faculty members, students, and community participants actively took part in the program, fostering collaboration between the institution and the local community.
This initiative strengthened SMCโs commitment to social responsibility, health promotion, and community empowerment, contributing to the institutionโs mission of service while supporting national and global health advocacy efforts.
