Celebrating Excellence, Community, and Michaelite Identity: CBAA Days 2024

Every year, the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) gathers its vibrant community to honor a celebration deeply rooted in unity, leadership, and academic distinction—CBAA Days. Held on April 28, 2024 at the St. Michael’s College Quadrangle, this momentous event brought together students, faculty, and staff from across the business programs to acknowledge their collective accomplishments, strengthen camaraderie, and reaffirm their commitment to Faith, Excellence, and Service.

More than just a day of festivities, CBAA Days stands as a hallmark of the college’s identity: a joyful celebration of business minds, ethical leaders, and young innovators who continue to bring pride to the institution. The activities highlighted the holistic formation approach of the college—one that balances intellectual development, industry readiness, moral grounding, community engagement, and spiritual growth.

Strengthening Holistic Formation Through Engaging Activities (SDG 4: Quality Education)

CBAA Days reflects SMC’s commitment to SDG 4: Quality Education, offering students an avenue for experiential learning outside the four walls of the classroom. The activities conducted throughout the day allowed students to showcase the skills they have honed across their academic journey: communication, leadership, strategic thinking, creativity, teamwork, and cultural expression.

Various events—ranging from business-related contests, talent showcases, collaborative games, and program-led presentations—empowered students to build confidence, exercise their strengths, and cultivate their potential. Faculty members and program chairs ensured that these activities were not only enjoyable but also aligned with learning outcomes in business, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, and human resource development.

Through participation, students demonstrated the Michaelite brand of excellence: intelligent yet humble, skilled yet grounded, competitive yet compassionate.

Promoting Decent Work Readiness and Entrepreneurial Mindsets (SDG 8)

In alignment with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, CBAA Days offered students an opportunity to experience the values and skills necessary for future workplaces. Activities designed around business simulations, leadership roles, and collaborative problem-solving reflected the realities of organizational environments.

By taking part in program tasks, students practiced:

  • Team coordination and delegation
  • Critical and strategic decision-making
  • Presentation and pitching skills
  • Event management and project execution
  • Conflict resolution and communication

These experiences cultivated competencies that are essential for business professionals, managers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. Students were not merely spectators—they were active performers and organizers, gaining hands-on exposure to the kind of professional behaviors and attitudes expected of them in real-world work settings.

Fostering Community Belonging and Reducing Inequalities (SDG 10)

The spirit of inclusivity during CBAA Days aligned with SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, ensuring that all students—regardless of program, background, or year level—experienced a sense of belonging and equal participation. Activities were designed to accommodate diverse skills, interests, and personalities, offering something meaningful for everyone.

The event emphasized unity among business majors:

  • Marketing Management
  • Financial Management
  • Human Resource Development Management
  • Business Administration strands within the institution

Each group contributed to the day’s success, reflecting the college’s mission to promote collaboration, respect for diversity, and mutual support.

CBAA Days gave students a sense of identity and pride, reinforcing that they are part of a larger family that values them and recognizes their role in the college’s shared success.

Celebrating Talent, Culture, and Michaelite Spirit

One of the highlights of CBAA Days is the vibrant expression of talent and culture from the student body. Performances, exhibitions, and presentations captured the energy and creativity of the young business leaders, showcasing their ability to lead not just academically but artistically and socially.

The event became a space for students to develop self-confidence, discover talents, and build friendships that extend beyond the classroom. It created moments of connection that strengthen the social fabric of the college and inspire students to continue striving for excellence.

Anchored in Faith, Guided by Mother Mary

What distinguishes CBAA Days from typical college events is its grounding in Catholic values. The day’s celebration observed the Michaelite tradition of incorporating gratitude, reflection, and faith in every endeavor. Inspired by the gentleness and strength of Mother Mary, the activities carried an atmosphere of compassion, kindness, and humility.

Faculty and student leaders ensured that all engagements were conducted with respect, responsibility, and integrity—values that are central to the mission of St. Michael’s College. Students were reminded that success must always be accompanied by moral character and a heart for service.

Building Future Leaders Through Joy and Purpose

CBAA Days 2024 was not simply a celebration; it was a formation experience. Students walked away not only with memories of laughter and friendship but with strengthened leadership, enhanced teamwork, academic pride, and a deeper sense of calling.

They were reminded that being a Michaelite means:

  • Striving for excellence
  • Working collaboratively
  • Leading ethically
  • Serving communities
  • Uplifting one another
  • Walking in faith

As the CBAA community continues its mission of forming responsible, innovative, and compassionate future business professionals, CBAA Days remains a powerful tradition—one that affirms the identity, unity, and excellence of every student.
