SMCII Eco-Mission Seminar

The Eco-Mission Seminar was successfully held on September 10, 2025, at the SMCII Auditorium, Iligan City, during the First Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026. Organized by the Campus Formation Center in collaboration with MICSR/MIS and the SMCII Alumni, the activity gathered HED students, alumni, administrators, faculty members, moderators, officers, and members for a faith-centered environmental formation.

Inspired by Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’, the seminar aimed to strengthen community spirit and Christian service by responding to the urgent challenges of climate change. It sought to deepen awareness among student leaders on the importance of environmental stewardship through the Eco-Mission Seminar and Eco-Bricking Reorientation, while inspiring responsible actions that protect life, safeguard the environment, and promote harmony with God’s creation. Reflective activities such as Pilgrims and Prayers guided participants to discern their role as stewards of creation and to commit to concrete ecological actions.

The activity directly supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—highlighting that caring for creation is both a Christian mission and a shared responsibility in building a sustainable future.
