In direct response to a recent bomb threat, St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. held a symposium on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, to equip faculty, staff, and school personnel with essential knowledge on properly handling security-related incidents. PMAJ Lenard Reloj Carandang, OIC of the Regional Explosive Canine Unit 10 (RECU10), emphasized the importance of vigilance and preparedness, stating, โBomb threats, prank or not, must be treated with utmost importance and should be taken seriously.โ
Held at the Basic Education Departmentโs St. Joseph Gymnasium, the symposium centered on the topic โProject: A.B.K.D Awareness of Bombs that Kill Lives and Destroy Properties.โ The session aimed to strengthen the school communityโs capability to respond effectively and protect the well-being of students, teachers, and personnel.
The initiative was organized following a recent bomb scare earlier this month that caused temporary disruption to school operations, although no explosive device was found. Through this proactive effort, SMCII underscores its commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment, enhancing community resilience, and fostering stronger coordination with public safety agencies.
