In January 2015, St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. (SMCII), through the Mother Ignacia Center for Social Responsibility (MICSR), in collaboration with the College of Nursing (CON), Basic Education Department (BED), and College of Commerce (COC), formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its partner institution at the Integrated School – Del Carmen, Iligan City, during Academic Year 2015–2016.
The MOU signing marked a significant milestone in institutional collaboration, formalizing a shared commitment to advance education, community development, and social responsibility. Through this agreement, the participating units established a structured framework for cooperation in implementing joint programs and activities that address the educational, social, and developmental needs of the partner community.
This partnership strengthened SMCII’s extension initiatives by promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring that academic expertise from various colleges contributes meaningfully to community engagement efforts. The MOU provided clear roles, responsibilities, and directions for sustained cooperation, reinforcing accountability and long-term impact in extension and outreach programs.
The activity reflects SMCII’s core values of faith, excellence, and service, underscoring the importance of unity, mutual respect, and shared purpose in achieving meaningful social change. By formalizing partnerships through agreements, the institution demonstrated its commitment to responsible governance and ethical collaboration.
