On November 24, 2015, St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. (SMCII), through the Mother Ignacia Center for Social Responsibility (MICSR), formally participated in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing held at the Iligan City Hall, during Academic Year 2015–2016.
The signing of the MOU marked a significant step in strengthening collaboration between the academe and the local government, establishing a framework for cooperative initiatives in education, community development, and social responsibility. Through this agreement, SMCII reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local government efforts by contributing academic expertise, student engagement, and institutional resources to community-centered programs.
This partnership provided opportunities for collaborative projects aligned with public service priorities, enabling the institution to actively participate in initiatives that promote social welfare, inclusive development, and civic engagement. The MOU underscored the importance of shared accountability and mutual cooperation in addressing community needs through education-based interventions.The activity reflects SMCII’s mission of faith, excellence, and service, highlighting the role of higher education institutions as partners in governance and community empowerment. By formalizing collaboration with the local government, the institution strengthened its capacity to implement responsive and sustainable extension programs.
