The Mangrove Planting and Clean-up Drive was successfully conducted on September 11, 2025, at Bayug Island, Iligan City, during the First Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026. Held in collaboration with the MASCI Month Celebration, MASCI Club moderators, MICSR, and other society officers and members, the activity brought together volunteers in a shared commitment to environmental care and community service.
Inspired by Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’, the initiative became a concrete expression of faith in action, strengthening community spirit and Christian service in response to the urgent challenges of climate change. Through Pilgrims and Prayers and the planting of mangroves along the seashore, participants embraced their role as stewards of creation by protecting coastal life, nurturing biodiversity, and safeguarding God’s gifts for future generations.
This eco-mission directly supported the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—affirming that caring for creation is both a spiritual calling and a shared responsibility in building a sustainable future.
