CSG-KASAPI Supports Coastal and Marine Conservation

On August 26, 2017, the CSG-KASAPI leaders of St. Michael’s College participated in a Mangrove Planting Program as part of the institution’s continuing commitment to environmental stewardship. The activity focused on coastal protection and marine conservation, giving student leaders a hands-on opportunity to help restore mangrove areas that provide vital habitats for marine life and act as natural barriers against coastal erosion.

A meaningful highlight of the initiative was the collaboration with the mothers of Barangay Santiago, who had carefully nurtured the mangrove seedlings planted during the activity. Their dedication, combined with the students’ enthusiastic participation, created a powerful partnership between the community and the youth. This collective effort not only supported the rehabilitation of coastal ecosystems but also emphasized the importance of shared responsibility in environmental conservation. By working together, the students and community members strengthened local sustainability efforts and demonstrated how unity can contribute to safeguarding marine ecosystems for future generations.
