Youth in Action: ABM Students for Environmental Protection

On September 16, 2017, the Grade 11 ABM students of St. Michael’s College took part in a Mangrove Planting Program at Barangay Santiago, Prk 5A, Iligan City. The activity aimed to support environmental protection efforts, particularly those connected to the Sustainable Development Goal on “Life Below Water.” Through planting mangrove seedlings, the students helped strengthen coastal resilience, protect marine biodiversity, and restore vital ecosystems that serve as natural barriers during storms. This hands-on experience not only highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship but also inspired the students to become proactive advocates for sustainability within their community.
