The College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) of St. Michael’s College, through its Financial Management students, conducted a meaningful storytelling outreach titled “Ang Value ni Sentimo” at the Day Care Center in Barangay Del Carmen, Iligan City on June 10, 2025. The activity was implemented as part of the Service Learning requirement under the Business Ethics subject, highlighting the integration of moral formation, financial education, and community engagement in business education.
The storytelling session was conducted in two parts, reaching a total of 51 young learners—29 children in the morning session and 22 in the afternoon. Through the engaging story of Ang Value ni Sentimo, the children were introduced to the idea that even the smallest denomination of money has value and purpose. The story emphasized saving, sharing, and appreciating small contributions as building blocks for responsible behavior and collective good.
Throughout the activity, the learners actively participated, expressing joy and curiosity as they interacted with the student facilitators. Beyond reinforcing the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ coin recirculation advocacy, the project fostered a deeper sense of financial awareness, responsibility, and compassion among both the children and the college students. The outreach demonstrated that when education is grounded in service and shared with sincerity, it leaves a lasting impact on both the community and future business leaders.
