On July 26, 2025, the College of Education of St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. organized a registration of Sagip Tutorial Program at GK Lafarge Village, Tag-ibo, Dalipuga, Iligan City, that is meant for the grade 1 to 6 pupils.
Throughout the activity, the participants conducted an orientation for the parents and their children, in company with the registration of the pupils. In its content found is the introduction of the summary of the program objectives, rationale, and advantages.
The program have stood up against the existing inequalities in education and has promoted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, which is Quality Education, by means of providing inclusive and equittable learning environment to every pupil, especially those who have registered in the said Sagip Tutorial Program.
Correspondingly, both the registration and orientation were co-hosted by the College of Educatio and the Teacher’s Guild Society and SAGIP Committee members. The program was also backed by Mrs. Terencia R. Arnejo and the MICSR coordinator. This shows the collaboration is not only between the leaders who have hosted the program and the community, however it is also evident between the community and other stakeholders.
To add up, the given activity to the pupils is in fact, associated with the vision, mission, goal, and objectives of the college, particularly highlighting on its mission and objectives. Accordingly, it has related to the values of being competent, socially responsible, and being ethical who are truly devoted to a life-long learning, as well as the involvement to the community. That is also supported with the core values of St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. (e.i., faith, excellence, and service) which are fully emboddied by those who have participated and assisted in the program.
That being said, the College of Education of St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. has expressed their desire and willingness to fill in the gaps of education in the local communities like Dalipuga. They have carried it out on the Sustainable Development Goals among which their hand had extended to, through programs implemented by the College.
