One for Marawi: SMC Extends Relief to Evacuees

On July 2, 5, and 9, 2017, the MICSR – One for Marawi City Program carried out a relief initiative for Marawi evacuees sheltered in Iligan City. Faculty volunteers, students, and MICSR–SMC Alumni worked together to repack grocery items donated by various benefactors. As part of the psychosocial activities initiated by the Department of Health (DOH), students also spent time playing with the children and personally donated toys to bring joy and comfort. The team distributed clothes, food, and other essential grocery items at the Fisheries Evacuation Center in Buruun and the Maria Cristina Evacuation Center. This collective effort embodied the spirit of service and solidarity, offering meaningful support to families affected by the crisis.
