Adopt-a-Chick Program: Promoting Sustainable Livelihood in the Community

The Distribution of the Chicks under the Adopt-a-Chick Program was conducted on October 22, 2016, at Barangay Poblacion, Iligan City, as part of the livelihood and community empowerment initiatives of the Mother Ignacia Center for Social Responsibility (MICSR). The activity aimed to support local families by providing them with a sustainable source of food and potential income through backyard poultry raising.

Community members were oriented on basic chick care, feeding practices, and proper management to ensure the health and growth of the distributed chicks. The program encouraged responsibility, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihood practices among beneficiaries while strengthening partnership between the institution and the barangay.

This initiative reflected SMCโ€™s commitment to social responsibility and inclusive development by promoting food security, livelihood opportunities, and community resilience through practical and sustainable interventions.
