Grade 11 HUMSS Advocates for Coastal Conservation

On September 16, 2017, the Grade 11 HUMSS students of St. Michael’s College actively participated in a Mangrove Planting Program at Barangay Santiago, Prk 5A, Iligan City. This environmental initiative aimed to support the preservation of coastal ecosystems and strengthen efforts aligned with “Life Below Water,” one of the key Sustainable Development Goals. By planting mangrove seedlings, the students contributed to protecting marine life, preventing soil erosion, and enhancing the natural habitat for aquatic species. The activity not only fostered environmental awareness but also instilled a sense of responsibility and stewardship among the youth, empowering them to take part in meaningful actions for ecological sustainability
