The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) at St. Michaelโs College of Iligan, Inc., proudly affirms its role in local tourism strategy by participating in the Tourism Triangle Development Zone (TTDZ) Stakeholders Workshop and Forum on August 15, 2025. The event was spearheaded by the Iligan City Tourism Office and held at the historically significant Macaraeg-Macapagal Ancestral House in Barangay Buruun.
The forum successfully convened key stakeholders, including heads and representatives from various local and national agencies, as well as business owners and influential figures within the Tourism Triangle. The primary focus was the collaborative discussion of opportunities and the formulation of strategies necessary for sustainable tourism growth in the area.
Faculty Contribution to Local Research
Demonstrating the College’s commitment to evidence-based industry development, CHTM faculty members Mr. Christopher Garcia and Ms. Angela Lyle Sanson-Lozano presented their insightful research findings and recommendations. Their study focused specifically on the vital role of habal-habal drivers within the Tourism Triangle, effectively shedding light on their significant impact and untapped potential in the local tourism industry.
This active involvement underscores the CHTM’s dedication to engaging with the community and government in applied research and strategic planning, directly contributing to the economic and sustainable development of Iligan City.
