A total of 60 Michaelites from both the Basic Education and Higher Education Departments proudly represented St. Michaelโs College of Iligan, Inc. in the 6th Annual Youth Privacy Summit held on November 26, 2025, at Lourdes College, Cagayan de Oro City.
The summit brought together young learners from across the region with a unified goal: to strengthen awareness on data privacy, online protection, and responsible digital citizenship. Participants engaged in dynamic discussions that emphasized the growing importance of safeguarding personal information in an increasingly interconnected digital landscape.
Throughout the forum, experts highlighted the critical role of the Data Privacy Act of 2012, empowering students with essential knowledge on their rights, digital responsibilities, and legal protections under Philippine law. The event equipped Michaelites with practical strategies for staying safe online and contributing to a more ethical digital community.
This meaningful participation supports SMCIIโs commitment to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by promoting digital literacy, strengthening youth empowerment, and fostering safe and accountable digital spaces for all.
